Sound is a form of vibrational energy. When sound travels through a medium, it creates waves of pressure and movement. Every physical system has natural frequencies at which it can vibrate, and when an external frequency interacts with those natural frequencies, resonance can occur.

Research has shown that vibration and sound can interact with biological tissues and systems in measurable ways. Scientists have investigated responses involving the nervous system, musculoskeletal system, circulation and other physiological processes.

This area of research provides an important scientific foundation for understanding how sound, frequency, vibration and resonance may interact with the human body. Research is continuing to determine how different frequencies, intensities and methods of delivering vibration affect biological responses.
